“We just couldn’t be happier with the design that the Bonick team created and how it all came together to accentuate our home and outdoor space. The care and attention to detail by the Bonick maintenance crew is outstanding and we love how
everything continues to evolve as the plants mature and take shape.” – Jane and Andrea
Featured on the 2020 AIA Dallas Tour of Homes, this collaborative project was built on a sloping creek lot and designed to preserve over 50 mature trees and the property’s natural grade. Because of this, our designer’s challenge involved shoring up some of the creek bank to prevent erosion. Harmony with the architecture and the site was achieved with plant materials including ground covers, understory trees, ferns, and Japanese maples (a favorite of the clients).  We also incorporated architectural plants like Juncus, dwarf palmetto, and a single ginkgo specimen tree in the center courtyard.

Architect: Malone Maxwell Borson Architects (Formerly MMB Architects – Now MMD (Malone Maxwell Dennehy))
