A few weeks ago I wrote about how proud I am that our landscaping team was recognized in The Best of Big D Awards for Best Lawn Care Services. Good landscape design is both a science and an art and requires discipline. At Bonick Landscaping, our overall design approach can be summed up as “less is more,” as we favor simple, clean designs. The simpler the design, the more critical the execution. The fewer the details, the more essential it is that the details are flawless.

An analogy can be found in wall finishes; the ubiquitous orange peel finish found on the majority of interior home walls is used precisely because it is forgiving and can hide flaws. Ditto with other textured finishes. But a simple smooth finish wall (often referred to as a “museum finish”) is much more difficult to achieve because it is unforgiving, showing every flaw and minor imperfection in the wall surface.

This philosophy can be effectively used with all architectural styles.
